a new season of vanderpump rules is almost upon us, and with it comes the usual mix of housewives-level drama and Jersey Shore-caliber comedy that has made the series so popular over the past decade.
If you’re a longtime fan, you know the show has gone through some major changes ahead of its ninth season.
First, Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute were fired in the midst of a dirty scandal involving former part-time cast member Faith Stowers.
Shortly thereafter, Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright were also let go.
fans were worried that vanderpump Would not have survived without three of its most beloved original cast members.
After all, it’s hard for any reality show to stay fresh through the Obama years.
But thanks to some imaginative retooling and some bonkers real life drama, the Pump Rules cast is still delivering the goods.

Some things have remained the same as you might (Schwartz and Sandy’s still aren’t open), but a lot of things have changed.
For starters, there are the breakups, which won’t come as a surprise to anyone who’s been following the off-camera Vanderpump drama between seasons:
As we see in the trailer, Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz have filed for divorce (And it looks like Schwartz puts the blame on his own struggling business venture, and, by extension, Tom Sandoval).
Meanwhile, Lala Kent and Randall Emmett have also gone their separate ways – and it seems Lala hasn’t had a hard time moving on.
and that’s not all!
James Kennedy and Raquel Lewis have called off their engagement, and it seems there has been a lot of drama following the breakup.
Kennedy’s new girlfriend, Allie Lieber, will be joining the cast this season, and it seems like everyone else, she prefers DJ James’s cooler version.
(And based on Ellie’s comments in the trailer, it’s safe to assume James isn’t on the wagon anymore.)
And was that not enough upheaval for one season it seems Raquel is now teaming up with Schwartz,
you know when a sitcom likes Friend Has been going on long enough, and the writers have run out of ideas, so random characters just start hooking up?
this is happening vanderpump Season 10, but it’s all unscripted!
Adding to this season’s slew of surprises is the return of Christina Kelly – who was a semi-regular in the show’s early seasons – and the demotion of Brock Davis.
Yes, even though Brock and Scheana will be married this season, it looks like the controversial Aussie has been granted “friend of the cast” status.
So yeah, needless to say, it’s a lot to keep track of. vanderpump Enters his double-digit era.
Whatever other criticisms you may have for the show, you certainly can’t argue that it has grown stale!
