in last weekend’s episode 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, Osman Omar blinded Kimberly Menzies, Again,
She dropped a bombshell on him and on Jamal, whom she had just met: She hadn’t told his brother Mohammed about her plans to adopt him.
Do you know what an adoption plan is called without actually having permission to take the child? kidnapping conspiracybasically.
In Sunday’s episode, Usman tells Mohd that he wants to adopt his child and take him to America. This may be a very tough pill to swallow. Mohammed clearly didn’t see this coming.
Notoriously, Osman “Sojaboy” Omar’s mother gave him a list of demands when she gave him her conditional blessing to marry Kimberly Menzies.
One of those demands was that Kimberly allow him to take a second wife. He learned that this would prevent him from coming to America, even if it was a future plan.
So Osman comes up with plan B: to put a child up for adoption to satisfy his mother’s sense of grandchild entitlement. And he also had a specific child in mind.
So, in this preview for Season 7, Episode 16, Osman and Kimberly and Jamal sit down with Mohammed and his family.
“I don’t think I need a second wife,” he confesses to his older brother.
Osman explains, “Because having two wives could prevent me from going to America.”
Muhammad’s son Mahdi sits on her lap while Osman proposes to her.
“I was wondering if you could give us Mahdi to adopt him as our own child,” he suggests about his nephew.
Mohammed is astonished and extremely sensible “Huh?” responds with
Usman says, “Don’t worry, we will take care of that 100 percent.” Is it convincing? Perhaps.
While Mohammed’s wife acknowledges how awkward the situation is, Kimberly admits that it was not her intention.
“Part of me has this feeling, ‘I can raise this kid,'” she admits to the camera.
“But at the same time, Mahdi’s parents are watching me,” Kimberly said, “and they think I’m crazy.”
She explains: “They never thought that I would want to adopt Mahdi.”
And as big a deal as adoption is in itself, Kimberly notes that it will be a more significant change in many ways.
“It’s not just uprooting the baby,” Kimberly elaborated.
She explained that “I am uprooting this child from his culture.”
If it happens… which is definitely a huge “if”.
So how does Mohammed feel about Osman’s sudden and shocking “proposal” to adopt Mohammed’s actual child?
Well, he calls it a “very powerful” suggestion from his brother.
But Mohamed worries that Kimberly’s voiceover clearly predicted when it comes to her son’s future.
Simply put, Mohammed grew up in this very conservative Muslim area of Nigeria.
“I don’t want a situation where my child goes there without Islamic orientation,” he admits.
It’s possible Osman and Kimberly can address those concerns. It is also possible that his concerns go beyond that.
