The Fablemans (English) is scheduled to be released on February 10, 2023. The Fablemans is a coming-of-age story of an aspiring filmmaker in the 1950s. Sam Fabelman (Gabriel LaBelle) lives with his mother Mitzeee (Michelle Williams), father Burt (Paul Dano) and sisters Regina (Julia Butters), Natalie (Keely Carsten) and Lisa.,(Sofia Kopera) in New Jersey, USA. Burt is a computer genius and works with his best friend, Benny (Seth Rogen). Mitzi is an expert piano player but had to give it up to raise her children. One day, a very young Sam is taken by his family to a movie theater to see The Greatest Show on Earth. Sam is stunned to see a scene where a train hits a car and is then hit by another train. Sam asks for a miniature train set for Hanukkah. He crashes his miniature train into a toy car as he saw in the movie. Bert is disappointed but Mitzeee understands his reason for doing this. They have a video camera and Mitzi asks her to video the fight. Sam takes the suggestion and soon, he starts filming regularly. The Fabelmans then move to Phoenix as Burt gets a better job in the city of Arizona. Sam grows up and the family helps him when he shoots films. Burt sees it as a hobby but Sam is adamant that he wants to pursue a career in filmmaking. Burt argues that it is pointless to do so because according to him, it will not help anyone in any way and one should do such work which is useful to the society. As Sam deals with his father’s estrangement, he receives another blow when he learns that his mother is cheating on Burt. What happens next forms the rest of the film.
