
This summer, one of the most viral moments from “Stranger Things” season four was the scene where Eddie Munson, played by Joseph Quinn, played a guitar solo. “Master of Puppets” by Metallica during the finale of the show.

“It used to be, with Metallica, we were always the ‘no’ people. ‘Hey, can we have this song for this? Can we have that song?’ And it was just no, no, no, no, no,” the drummer explained.

“A few years ago, we reversed it. We did a 180. We just said, ‘You know this is stupid. Why do we hang onto these songs like they’re so important?’
After changing your mindset to say “yes” to these opportunities, “Stranger Things” scene Come near Ulrich said the band was familiar with the show and was “very proud” of how the final scene unfolded.
“A few years ago, we started saying ‘yes’ to everything. Obviously, we’re all somewhat familiar with the ‘Stranger Things’ phenomenon. But we got that six, nine months ago, and said yes. They want produced this whole scene about ‘Master of Puppets.’ And we said of course. Then it came out in the summer. And it was such a mind— to see how it became a phenomenon . We were very proud,” Ulrich said.

After the show’s release, “Master of Puppets”, first released in 1986, resurfaced as a hit song for a whole new generation of listeners. Metallica pays tribute to the show at Lollapalooza in July 2022, when she played the song on stage with Eddie Munson’s “Stranger Things” visual shown in the background.

Metallica recently announced a new album, “72 Seasons”, and a world tour, “M72”, to take place in 2023 and 2024.

It is their first album since their 2016 album “Hardwired… to Self-Destruct”. The band’s “72 Seasons” album is set for release on April 14, 2023, with touring taking place in 2023 and 2024.
