oh it’s time for some Vigilant S**tSwifty!

Taylor Swiftfans of suffered through a the great war For most people this week – or to try – to buy tickets for the musician’s arrival Era Travel But now, not only ticketmaster are trying to blame the musician for the awful experience, but have canceled general ticket sales, which were due to take place on Friday. what?!

OK, let’s back up. On Tuesday, a select number of Ticketmaster verified fans received a special code to purchase tickets on the site ahead of general sale. after seeing success of MidnightEveryone knew it was going to be tough to get the best seats – but what happened next was a bloodbath that no one saw coming! Supposedly, not even the seller …

The entire pre-sale turned into an epic disaster, with hour-long wait times, marked up ticket pricing and glitches as a result of Ticketmaster’s unpreparedness with overloaded servers. Seriously, it was crazy. Go check out your Swiftie BFFs. He needs all the love and support he can get right now, especially with this latest news. Lolz!

now, Live Nation Entertainment company chairman Greg Maffei Opening up about what went wrong – and pointing fingers! (BTW, Ticketmaster merged with fellow ticketing company Live Nation in 2010, which is why they are facing criticism.) In an interview with cnbc On Thursday, the businessman was asked to address the ticket controversy, to which he replied:

“The Live Nation team sympathizes with the long wait times and the fans who didn’t get what they wanted. The reality is that this is Taylor Swift’s act of overwhelming demand. The site is home to 1.5 million verified Taylor Swift fans.” was supposed to be opened. We had 14 million people hit the site — another story, including bots that shouldn’t be there. And despite all the challenges and wear and tear, we sold over 2 million tickets that day. We 900 could fill the stadium.

damn, 14 million just for pre-sales?! We highly doubt that 12.5 million of those site users were bots — unless there’s a bigger issue at play — but it looks like the company won’t hold accountability. very nice!

But at the same time, is he seriously trying to pin it on Tyte? Sure, maybe she could have turned off the surge pricing (which the artists supposedly have control over), but the ticket seller should have been prepared for a large number of buyers. It’s really their job! Nevertheless, Greg continued:

“Interestingly, aeg – Our competitor, who is Taylor Swift’s promoter – chose to use us because we are literally the biggest and most effective ticket seller in the world. Even our competitors want to be on our platform.”

Just as a reminder: this was a pre-sale event meant to have only one code – they were sent By ticketmaster Himself – could have bought tickets. So, the company knew exactly how many people were going to log on and they still weren’t ready. SMH.

Furthermore, just because AEG used Ticketmaster, doesn’t mean they thought their system was effective (it clearly wasn’t!). This decision was probably taken because of his power in the industry, for which many politicians criticized him in light of this disaster. At the time of pre-sales, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Tweeted:

“Daily reminder that Ticketmaster is a monopoly, its merger with LiveNation should never have been approved, and they need to be governed.”

Sen Amy Klobuchar Also wrote a letter to the CEO of Live Nation Entertainment highlighting the lack of competition in the live music industry:

“Ticketmaster’s power in the primary ticketing market insulates it from the competitive pressures that typically drive companies to innovate and improve their services. This can result in dramatic service failures, with consumers paying the price.

The site is taking heat from everyone! even the president Joe Biden is tracking concert ticket sales, tweeting about wanting to crack down on “hidden junk fees — like processing fees on concert tickets.” back in november, Well, we know she has Swiftie now!

just for the record, while the number of fans trying to buy Era Tour Tickets Were Astronomical, Ticketmaster Has Struggled Like Other Major Stars Harry Styles, love on tour And billie eilish‘s happier than ever World Tour. Both concerts saw long wait times and ridiculously high pricing, which added hundreds of dollars onto the OG price of tickets due to (*obvious*) high demand. So, this has been a problem a long time coming… and for Taylor Swift fans, it’s gotten even worse.

On Thursday, Ticketmaster announced a pre-scheduled general sale on social media for fans who didn’t get access to the Verified Fan presale or capital one The Exclusive Cardholder Presale was officially cancelled! He tweeted the shocking:

“Due to exceptionally high demands on the ticketing system and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet that demand, tomorrow’s public sale for Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour has been cancelled.

what ?!

At this time, no additional information has been provided, and it is unclear whether tickets will go on sale again. what a joke. Neither the singer nor his team has addressed the situation yet, but we’re ready to clap our hands at Greg. God. Feedback, Peregius readers? were you able to get tickets?? Sound off (down)!
