While Black Adam is still running at the box office and second only to being dethroned by Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, it hardly seems like the Dwayne Johnson starrer will break through. Justice Leaguerecord of The film, which marks The Rock’s entry into the DCEU, was released on October 20.
Though it had a good opening, its collections fell in the last few days and even went below one million mark. It’s common for DC movies to have great openings, but then see a massive slump. The same happened with this film.
According to Box Office Mojo, Black Adam Has Finally Surpassed Box Office Mojo $350 million worldwide box office mark. It has been in theaters for almost a month. What’s surprising is that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has nearly reached that global mark in its opening weekend.
Speaking of Black Adam, its a worldwide collection $352 million. Contains $151 million Domestically (North America) and Other $201 million in foreign countries. Even within the DCEU, it’s pretty low, and although the Dwayne Johnson starrer will surpass its 2019 total of $366 million Shazam! It looks more or less impossible to beat $657.9 million Total 2017 Justice League.
Despite Henry Cavill’s cameo as Superman, the DC flick has failed to work its magic. Now with added competition from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, it hardly seems like the Dwayne Johnson-starrer will be breaking many records.
Its ban in China definitely affected the box office collections, but the same holds true for many other high-grossing films. In addition to Dwayne Johnson, Black Adam stars Noah Centineo, Pierce Brosnan, Sarah Shahi, Quintessa Swindell, and more.
