Akshay Kumar breaks silence on his Indian passport application

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is one of the most successful stars of the Hindi film industry. He has acted in over 100 films and won several awards, including two National Film Awards and two Filmfare Awards. Kumar is also one of the highest paid actors in the industry.

While he has entertained everyone for nearly three decades, he is often criticized for his Canadian citizenship and the issue is usually raised when Akshay promotes national causes. Now he was once again asked about his Canadian citizenship but this time he shared an update about his Indian passport.

During the last day of Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2019, Akshay Kumar Promised that he would soon apply for an Indian passport. Now three years later, the last day of the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2022 has revealed that he had applied for a passport as promised but covid delayed the process.

“Having a Canadian passport does not mean that I am less than an Indian. I am very much Indian. I have been here for the last nine years when I got my passport. And I don’t want to go into the reason why my films weren’t working, blah blah blah, chalo woh ok,” Khiladi Kumar said.

“Yes, I said in 2019, I had applied for it. Then came the epidemic after that. After that 2-2.5 years everything will be closed. My letter of resignation has just arrived. What should I do, I have brought a little epidemic,” said Akshay Kumar.

Akshay took another criticism how people often troll him for taking on too many projects in a year. He said he doesn’t understand why this is a problem. “I do four films a year. Yes I do it. I advertise, sure. I work, do not steal from anyone. I did not understand. People ask me why do you wake up early? But, morning is for waking up, isn’t it? I don’t understand what am I doing wrong. I will work I will give 50 days if needed and 90 days if needed.
