Actors Ben Savage and Anson Williams gear up for election this year as Americans come to cast their vote across the United States on November 8.

The “Boy Meets World” star and “Happy Days” star, respectively, are among a growing list of celebrities who have made the leap from Hollywood to politics.

Most notably, former presidents Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump were successful in the film and TV industry before holding the highest elected titles in America.

The actor revealed that he was on the run because he wanted to “restore confidence” in the city government.

“I am running for City Council because there are serious challenges ahead and West Hollywood deserves wise, honest and strong leadership to face them,” he explained on his campaign website. “I am a longtime resident, union member and concerned citizen who believes that West Hollywood deserves leaders who will deliver results.”

“The city faces serious challenges around public safety, struggling businesses, inflation and housing costs. We need new leaders with fresh perspectives who are ready to tackle these issues.”

According to the “Happy Days” star who has called Ojai home since 2011, it’s now more necessary than ever to use your public platform to give back to your community. Some of his ideas include establishing a designated “base camp” outside the downtown area where tourists and tour buses park and pay, developing more public parking areas to relieve congestion, implementing new conservation programs, and more. For involves creating a bond, uniting businesses with the Casitas Water District. School system and creating new sources of income.

“For me, it’s not about politics at all,” he told Fox News Digital. “I’m not running for mayor to get into politics. I’m not a politician. I consider myself an allied leader. It’s for my community. It’s for my friends and everyone who loves Ojai.” So special, important place in our country.”

“I think I can get us back in a positive direction for future mayors and future council members. But we need to start first. And I know I can lead. That’s why I’m running , and hope I win.”

Ronald Reagan

His political ideology shifted from liberal to conservative after the issue of communism became more relevant in Hollywood. He eventually decided to run for governor of California in 1966 and was re-elected in 1970.

Reagan was elected president in 1980 with George HW Bush as his running mate.

Both won re-election in 1984.

Reagan was known for his roles in films such as “King’s Row,” “Sergeant Murphy” and “The Hasty Heart.”

Donald Trump

Before running for the presidency of the United States in 2016, Donald Trump Starred as the host of “The Apprentice”. The show ran from 2004 to 2017.

Contestants on the reality TV show competed to work as an apprentice for Trump.

Trump ran for re-election in 2020 but lost to incumbent President Joe Biden.

Arnold Schwarzenegger

Before entering the political arena, Schwarzenegger participated in body-building competitions and appeared in several successful films. He is best known for several roles including “Predator,” “Conan the Barbarian” and “The Terminator.”

Schwarzenegger revealed during a 2021 conversation with his daughter Katherine via Instagram that he had “this determination about fixing the state and making the state better.”

The “Sixth Day” star held the office until 2011.

He ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination in 1982 and has flirted with other statewide runs in recent years.

Clint Eastwood

Al Franken was elected to the Senate in 2008 as a representative of Minnesota and served in his role until 2018.

However, before politics, Franken gained fame as a comedian.

Most notably, Franken appeared on “Saturday Night Live”. He also served as a writer for the show from the 1970s to the 1990s.
